Navratri Golu Dolls in Mylapore

This Dusshera, I am in Chennai, and many people in this part of the country celebrate the festival by putting up a Navratri Golu (read about it here) during the 9 days from Mahalaya to Dashami. During this time of the year, the area near the Mylapore tank  fills up with stalls selling thousands and thousands of brightly painted mud dolls of all sizes, shapes and colours. Put it on your must-see list if you are visiting this region during Dusshera. And if you can manage to get invited to a golu in someone’s home, even better!
